Why?
After seeing a lack of representation of the Latinx community in the Joe Biden campaign I decided to start Latinas for Biden.
Most people forget that campaigns are mostly ran by volunteers. Instead of simply criticizing the campaign, I wanted to do something about it. I reached out to Women for Biden, and created an Instagram account called @latinasforbiden. Together, I serve as a consultant for anything Latinx-related, and make space for other Latinas to get involved.
How?
I utilize our Instagram account to speak about Latinx issues, connect with other Latinx people/groups, and share important information, using Latinx language and tones to create a deeper connection with the community.
What?
We post about specific issues that Latinos worry about, such as: Immigration, job security, racial discriminations, the increasing pay gap, family separation, etc.
We are mobilizing the Latinx community to volunteer, we inform them about important electoral deadlines, information about how to vote and where they can do that. And we engage in conversation about why/how a significant percentage of Latinos still want to vote for Trump.

Relational Organizing
You can start at home.
Reach out to your personal network, family, and friends and share your voting plan with them. Make sure they have one.
Phone bank in Spanish.
The Latinx community is still significantly under informed, and is being targeted with fake news, mis informed ads, and countless of ways to suppress their vote.
Phone Banking is not hard. And you don’t need to be an expert on all the issues.
We don’t call people persuade Trump supporters, we call people to confirm they are reregistered. And there is always a lead available for questions.

Volunteer for the Hotline
If you’re not comfortable calling people, let them call you!
We need more bilingual volunteers to answers all the questions and concerns coming in. Get trained for the National Voter Assistance Hotline. As a hotline volunteer, you'll be answering voters' questions about voting, helping them make a plan to vote early and helping ensure that every eligible voter is able to exercise their right to vote.
Volunteers go through a training and have prompts for answers. You don’t need to be an expert.
